Starting Your Own Business
Ever since I was about 5 and could actually somewhat comprehend why my family moved so much, it was because of the many businesses that we had started up, or owned. Now sure there’s the whole legal side of starting your business, whether its a new Corporation, LLC or Partnership, you still need to know what your intentions are, and where you’re intending to go with this business.
For a business you need at least these three concepts set.
- What are you selling?
- How do you plan on selling it?
- Who do you plan on selling to?
These three concepts are your big key. When you’re able to establish these concepts you actually know what your plans are(to a point). Once these three points have been set this is when the fun really starts.
Okay, so now, there is a huge part of your business that comes from you and your ambition. In such case, Rene Lacerte has 5 key points that put this next step into great perspective, and allow businesses to become successful businesses.
- Find your passion. – Without the passion for your ideas, you really have no jumping platform. Whatever you business idea is, be passionate about it. It gives you a boost to go where you need to, to get your business off the ground and being successful.
- Believe in yourself and your idea. – This is where the whole “everyone is a salesman” aspect comes into play. You really want to almost be completely arrogant about your idea. You are after all trying to sell it. Milk your idea for all it’s worth and sell it!
- Be resourceful. – Raising money to finance your venture is always difficult. But be sure to look into it, there is money out there for anything. If all else fails, some look to loans, credit cards, even second mortgages, though I don’t recommend it.
- Share the Risk. – The more investors, and the more people you have contributing, the more the risk gets spread between each other minimizing what one single person gets.
- Listen to your customer. - This is probably the best way to improve and change your product. Just keep in mind, you can change your product to the best representation of what will suit your target market. The better your customer likes you, the more word gets out, the more they buy. It’s a Great Cycle!
