The Social Media Revolution

May 12th, 2008  |  Published in Networking, Tech

Web 1.0, 2.0 and even this so-called 3.0 isn’t any different web, its all the same. We just feel better that we establish it as 2.0 or 3.0 because that’s what we like to think of it as, a 2nd version of the web. NO! It’s the same evolving web, we’re not humans 2.0 because we evolved.

All this new web is, is a development of server technology, coding technology and a bunch of other technical jargon that I’m not here for. Part of this ever evolving web though, is social media and it’s making a KILLER hit. Social media, when you think of it is a huge evolution of ways for people to keep in touch and let us share information on a scale that is unimaginable. But why is it creating such a big hit?

Simply because it allows everyone who was unable to become a professional in their careers to voice their opinion, advice and many other useful utilities. The other aspect that came about is Open Source. This allowed programmers to create their own programs and allow others to expand upon it creating new software for free.

The Social Media revolution is not a bad one. But it is one that must be eyed carefully because of its quickly expanding nature. Keep an eye on it, and one day who knows, it could be the best thing we know.
