Facebook or Google Ads?

July 19th, 2009  |  Published in Uncategorized

We all know that the hype is on for SEO, SEM, and Social Media Marketing (SMM). Now I don’t know if it’s my inexperience or my lack of hunting through Google’s AdSense settings, but to be perfectly honest I think targeting is much easier through Facebook than Google. I have looked at building ads for Carrboro Coworking, and myself through Facebook and I can almost pin-point the exact demographic that I want.

Granted I will agree that with Google, it is a search it’s harder to tell who people are unlike Facebook, so no matter what you’re getting a larger demographic and a larger base. I will also go as far as to say, that Facebook’s Lexicon is a better tool for finding trends than many of the tools for trending that I have found for background research for creating your ads.

I by no means claim to be an expert at SEO, SEM or SMM. But when I find something that is simpler and to my eyes equally as precise why not use that one instead?

Arguments to my points, or if you care to elaborate on what I said please leave a comment and tell me what you think.
