It's more of a matter of Dan's manner of taking the response with cool and not reacting negatively to it. But if I would have to choose sides to your question I'd say Jerry dump Dan. Because he doesn't have to follow what Dan says. But if he is better off not listening to him then go for it! In the long run it could be beneficial for him!
